Modest all day cycling.
Cycle touring: day rides at modest pace, on quiet roads or cycle paths, in and around Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife and the Borders.
Rides vary between 30 and 50 miles in length and generally start at a number of meetup points in the centre of Edinburgh such as on the pavement outside the Commonwealth Pool, by the canal towpath adjacent to the Leamington Bridge or adjacent to Middle Meadow Walk.
If you wish to join the Group, please note that specific rides are organised through a WhatsApp group that all members are required to join.
Rides are normally organised throughout the spring to autumn roughly coinciding with the “summer” daylight period. The number of rides is dependent on the number of members willing to lead them and all those with sufficient experience are encouraged to lead rides with the support of the Group Leader and/or the Deputy Group Leader.
Please contact the Group Leader above by using the Group email link above if you are interested in joining the group. You should provide your u3a number, your mobile telephone number (this is necessary for the WhatsApp group) an indication of the area in which you live and some general information on your experience of cycle touring.
