Bridgescapes is a richly-illustrated journey through Scotland celebrating over 700 years of the country’s bridges and bridge-building heritage. 

Examples span the centuries from the 14^th century Brig o’ Balgownie, through the Wade, Telford and Rennie eras and the canal aqueducts and railway viaducts up to the elegant super-structures of the 20^th and 21^st centuries. 

This is not an engineering talk, but rather examines the history and geography of this element of the built environment, with a strong perspective on the human-interest stories and a galaxy of home-grown civil engineers

There will be tea, coffee and biscuits after the talk.
