Shakespeare - New Authorship Perspectives (Suggested Group)

Status:Suggested, not meeting yet
Group email: Shakespeare - New Authorship Perspectives (Suggested Group) group
When: Monthly on Fridays 2:00 pm-4:00 pm

Interested in exploring Shakespeare works origination?

This group is at the suggested stage so is not yet meeting. The Group Coordinator is assembling a list of members who would be interested in joining this group.

Given the recent re-attribution of some of Shakespeare's plays to Christopher Marlowe, this group will look at early “Shakespearean” works to identify overlaps with Marlowe’s or even other contenders' work. Was William Shakespeare mere pseudonym, later becoming something of a commercial brand? Also, drawing upon Ben and David Crystal’s Everyday Shakespeare: Lines for Life, the group will look at what all these works reveal, both of the real Shakespeare and of what they perhaps mean for us in our own lives.

If you are interested please contact the Group Coordinator at the link above.
